Since it was Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, students watched the movie Mulan. The movie, Mulan, was played to show appreciation for Asian Americans. Mulan represents Chinese culture by giving the idea that girls are able to do whatever they put their minds to. It is also inspired by the Chinese folktale the Ballad of Mulan.

This month was Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Students participated in a Hula Hoop competition to show appreciation for Pacific Islanders. Polynesians believe that a hula hoop resembles how the universe is connected to you. People also believe that it symbolizes the circle of life. The Hula Hoop was created by the Australian bamboo hoops.
