Mrs. McGovney is a 6th grade teacher who teaches Math and Science.
Her students do projects, quizzes, discussions and tests. She believes the most effective teaching techniques are when the students learn actively instead of listening. Her teaching philosophy is that you need to believe in your students, be there to support them and push them past their comfort point to grow. She also believes that it is important for you to get to know your students and work with them from that point of view.
She evaluates successful teaching lessons by everything overall, (scores, opinions, their understanding, etc.) and the students mood. She believes that it is important for the class to respect one another and that everyone is kind and respectful to each other. She uses fix-it tickets and gives out tickets for good behavior.
