According to research from scientists, the act of bullying has not only occurred between humans, it has also been a problem for multiple species of animals as well. The concept of bullying has shifted over the years. Nowadays, the most common form of bullying is cyber-bullying. Despite the countless number of victims being targeted for bullying, Unity Day helps combat all forms of bullying and hopes for the day these harsh interactions officially end.
Unity Day is celebrated every year on the third or fourth Wednesday of October. As one may know, this day honors National Bullying Prevention Month. Many individuals express themselves by wearing orange and spreading kindness throughout. The color orange, is not only seen as an autumn season and the upcoming of Halloween, but this color symbolizes warmth and safety. Moreover, wearing orange and celebrating Unity Day promotes joining together and expressing their kindness by accepting differences and including others. Many communities benefit from Unity Day by creating healthier relationships between each other. To add on, many bystanders have stayed silent when in the presence of bullying. One simple act of wearing orange and uniting helps spread a message to those saying that they are not alone.
