The long awaited Super Bowl LVII occurred on February 12, 2023 starting at 3PM with the Kansas City Chiefs going up against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Super Bowl is meant to show the abilities of the top football teams in the NFL, and the best team of the year will win the competition.  This game was played at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona with a whopping 113 million viewers.

The game started with the Eagles being far in the lead with no hope for the Chiefs to come back with the score of 21-3 at halftime.

This is when the stunning halftime show occurred. Rhianna led an impressive performance dressed in all red with a dancing entourage dressed in all white. She sang such hit songs as Rude Boy, Where Have You Been, and Work, and then the game went on.

Undeniably, the score did not look good for the Chiefs in the first half and it would be tough to get back in the lead. But they had the willpower and determination to get there, and they had quarterback Patrick Mahomes leading the second half surge.  The Superbowl ended with a final score of 38-35 in favor of the Chiefs.

McAuliffe seventh grader Kate Theriault stated that she wanted the Eagles to win, however she thought, “the Chief’s comeback was very impressive.”

McAuliffe eighth grader Demi Nguyen also explained that she was rooting for the Eagles as well, “but, I am happy that the Chiefs  won their second SuperBowl!”
