Though released many months ago, Marvel’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home” film continues to awe viewers as though it came out just yesterday. People are still talking about this movie, and its reviews and ratings have given it the glory it deserves.

Directed by John Watts, “No Way Home” stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya as Michelle Jones (MJ) and Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange. The film was released on December 17, 2021 as the twenty-seventh film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). It follows the movie “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” which came out in 2019.

In the movie, Peter Parker asks Doctor Strange to cast a spell to hide his identity after Mysterio revealed him as Spider-Man in the previous film. However, Peter wants to make some exceptions and allow those close to him to still remember who he is. This leads to the spell causing the entire multiverse to fracture, which allows Spider-Man villains to enter from other universes. Throughout the movie, Spider-Man battles his enemies while discovering who he truly is on the inside.

The special part about this Spider-Man film is that three actors, Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, who have all played the role of Spider-Man, appear in the movie. “It’s exciting because most people grew up with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, and now they get to see all three of them put together,” says eighth-grader Aiden Khalek.

“No Way Home” has grossed over $1.8 billion worldwide, placing it at number six in the box office rankings. Screen Rant, an entertainment news website, claims that one reason for these high ratings is because of how the movie “managed to tell a deep and emotional personal story while weaving in multiversal Spider-Man characters and a universe-ending scope.”

For what comes next for the Spider-Man trilogy, eighth-grade student Jason Khan admits, “Honestly, I have no idea! [The movie] kind of left it all up in the air, but it definitely leaves a lot of open room for Spider-Man to just be a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, not just fighting Thanos.”

“I feel like this movie has just made such an impact on the MCU,” Khalek reflects, while Khan declares, “It’s just such a great movie, just amazing.”

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” thrilled and captured the attention of Marvel fans, and is continuing to do so even months after its release. This epic film has changed the face of the MCU and people cannot get enough.
