The popular lip-synching app, TikTok, is responsible for dozens of famed creators like Loren Gray and Charli D’Amelio, but one of the most popular TikTokers is Louisiana native, Addison Rae Easterling. She has over 38 million followers and is considered one of the most followed creators on TikTok.

Her career skyrocketed when Easterling posted a video on TikTok after seeing the middle-schoolers she was babysitting, post videos. “I downloaded the app in July, made a post with a friend, and literally out of nowhere it got … 93,000 likes and I was like Woah. I like this!” exclaims Easterling in a Hollywire interview. “She’s famous pretty much because she dances to popular trends on TikTok,” exclaims seventh-grader and Birdwatch staff writer, Caroline Kerns.

Before Easterling was one of TikTok’s most popular creators, she was enrolled in Louisiana State University and studied broadcasting. She quit to pursue the life of a social media star. Since then, Easterling has gained more than 14 million followers on Instagram and 1.5 million followers on Twitter. “I think many people enjoy her content because she makes many TikToks per day and they are jokes, lip-syncing, and dancing,” states seventh-grader, Elena Samayoa.

Easterling is part of the Hype House, a social media house dedicated to TikTok’s best creators. The Hype House consists of Avani Gregg, Charli and Dixie D’Amelio, Chase Hudson, Thomas Petrou, and many more. The content house was created in December 2019 with cofounders Daisy Keech, Thomas Petrou, and Chase Hudson. Keech has recently left the Hype House over a dispute with Petrou and Hudson about whether or not she has cooperated with the Hype House. 

Overall, TikTok is one of the most common apps for teens and has made many people famous. Easterling is a TikToker, however, there may be more in store for this social media sensation.
