Since many locations are closed, people are looking for something to do after they finish work. An enjoyable outlet is watching Netflix movies and one readers may be interested in is “Uncorked.”

Released on March 27, 2020, directed and written by Patience Penny, “Uncorked” is a one hour and 44 minute Netflix film about a young man who wants to pursue becoming a sommelier. Even though he wants to accomplish his dream his father does not like the idea of him leaving the family barbecue business.

Starring Mamoudou Athie, Courtney B. Vance, and Niecy Nash, “Uncorked” is a hilarious drama about a father and son who must finally learn to listen to one another. Elijah struggles with dividing between his dream and family, while Louis (father) fights with the emotions of his son refusing to take over the family business until a tragedy forces both of them to relax and agree on terms. Although the movie is about a young man who wants to pursue becoming a master sommelier it is not completely about wine. The movie is about the balance of understanding one’s dream and family, not one or the other.

To conclude, “Uncorked” is a hilarious and touching drama about a father and son who have to finally learn to listen to one another. With the balance of goals and family, two come together to agree on what both want.
