He’s Back!

Felix Kjellburg (PewDiePie) has returned from his break. PewDiePie recently announced in several videos that he would be taking a break for an undetermined amount of time. After a month of not posting on Youtube he came back posting his video, “I went on break for 30 days & THIS HAPPENED.” He explained to fans that he came back from Japan safely and without the coronavirus. What a great way to return, with news stories already on his back.

PewDiePie is seen putting on face masks in his Ice Age Baby returning video as a joke referring to the coronavirus memes. CNN, Insider, and other news sites claimed that when he did this he was “mocking” the Chinese. Also, in his video commenting on Jake Paul’s “investment scam” these same sites claimed that he was “attacking” Paul. PewDiePie often makes response videos to these criticisms.

“I think it was okay because he still knew about memes and Ice Baby, and he didn’t get the coronavirus,” stated Luke Malley, a seventh grader who attends McAuliffe Middle School, after PewDiePie came back from Japan.

So far, PewDiePie has been taking Wednesdays and Thursdays off and has been posting most commentary videos about what’s going on in the world, but he has put up one video where he visits his famous Minecraft world again.

Ultimately, PewDiePie has been getting used to YouTube again and still recording like there was no break in between. He has started a Subnautica (A game about survival in the ocean with aliens) but that’s all the new. Now, the coronavirus pandemic might increase PewDiePie’s following as many people are sheltering in place and may resort to watching him.
