Throughout this year’s 180 days, we on
ly have less than a month left. Everybody has had growth, and ASB has drastically improved their performance. In all committees, the events, people of the week, Morning Announcements, Heritage month, and fundraisers. Since it is the end of the school year, we have seen all committees improve throughout this year.
CIA – CIA honors and highlights the beauty between cultures and gender. It celebrates the differences of our community and makes posters, events, and Leadership club themes based off of inclusivity. “We started off slow, because everything was new and there was so much going on.” Says Nylah Minter, “But, eventually, we got used to it and started finishing early. Everything became quality.” Eva Monge says, “I think figuring out what type of events work and how many people will engage and show up has really improved.”
SPIRIT– Spirit does events. Posters, running, and executing lunch events have drastically improved this year. At the beginning of the year, new 7th graders knew nothing but have learned how to make posters, run events, and engage with our customers.
COMMUNITY– Community helps Mcauliffe become more close with specific fundraiser events, and Leadership club every Wednesday. Celeste Blanchard, a member, has said about her committee, “With great change, comes great success.” This year, community had altered previous techniques to further their events potential and improve it.
MULTIMEDIA– Multimedia makes all digital media for ASB. Morning announcements are made every week, Instagram’s Birdwatch is added to, along with special requests like a video answering 5th grader’s questions. Multimedia does all filming and photos of ASB.
RECOGNITION– Recognition is in charge of staff birthdays, appreciation days, and people of the week. Every week, Recognition makes an eagle of the week poster, staff of the week, and teacher of the week. For every visit to the classroom, Eddie the Eagle goes with them. A recognition 7th grader, Sienna Mathews, says, “Recognition has improved this year by creating more meaningful posters.”
All of our committees have grown this year and the new members have grown experienced with new ASB opportunities. Our school will continue to improve every year as we learn more about our school and use it for future years.
