Mr. Bret Lynes, born on October 14, 1974, is a well-known teacher around campus for his comedic, kind, and intelligent personality. Mr. Lynes started his college adventure at UC Davis, where he loved all of his teachers and professors. Mr. Lynes studied aeronautical engineering to try to manufacture aviation vehicles and fly planes. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree (4 yrs). He worked as a commercial pilot for some years and later switched careers to atmospheric science, where he got a job as a weather forecaster. He hated his job there and remembered that his father was a teacher. At a very young age, he helped his father and thought working with people younger than him would be a lot of fun. He says he loves the enthusiasm of middle schoolers, and it would also help him not work an office job 9-5. He went to UC Davis to acquire his teaching credential for Secondary Math and Science (1.5 yrs). After, he went to National University Alliant International (AIU) to get his Masters in Education Administration (1.5 yrs) with Mr. Happoldt, his wife, and Dr. Pulver (Our superintendent).
Mr. Lynes, as a science teacher, says for all students not to sweat the little things. He wants the best for his students and wants them to succeed. He says to be true to yourself, enjoy every moment, and focus on the good things. His teaching style includes comedy and funny jokes because he loves seeing people laugh and be happy. He loves being honest and teaching new things.
Speaking of honesty, Mr. Lynes is open about exclaiming facts about his wife. Mr. Lynes met his wife while attending National University. They found many common interests with each other and got married in 2000 and had triplets in 2006.

He is a family man, helping walk the dog, cook, do the dishes, etc. His favorite activities are go-kart racing, riding bikes, flying planes, hiking, looking at fancy cars and motorcycles, and always dreaming of driving a classic Ferrari through Tuscany, Italy.
