On Tuesday, November 7, School Psychologist Day was in full swing at McAuliffe Middle School. There were posters and announcements thanking the hard work of Mrs. Bergeron, the school psychologist.
School Psychologist Day is celebrated worldwide to recognize psychologists for their unwavering commitment for childrens’ education and well-being. Their expertise and compassion made a difference in the lives of many students and families, and McAuliffe is grateful for all that they do.
When asked what School Psychologist Day meant to her, Sarah Harris, an eighth grader at McAuliffe, said, “I think this day is meant to show dedication and gratitude to Mrs. Bergeron. I also think this shows the work school psychologists do make a difference in kids like myself every day.” Many other kids at McAuliffe Middle School know Mrs. Bergeron and go to her if they need help or guidance.
On that day, ASB, or the Associated Student Body at McAuliffe, was in charge of thanking Mrs. Bergeron. They were preparing for days before School Psychologist Day to find ways to show thanks. This was important because ASB needed to make sure things were perfect for the person who gave so much to McAuliffe.
School Psychologist Day is celebrated on November 7th globally to celebrate all school psychologists. At McAuliffe, the school psychologist is deeply appreciated and works hard every day to help make students’ lives better. If it were not for school psychologists, kids would not get the help they need!
