McAuliffe’s Film Festival Winners!

Birdwatch staffer Natan Otazu sat down with McAuliffe Film Festival winners Konnor and Kassidy Fox, Trent Massey, and Mia Ward.
Q: Why did you decide to participate in the film festival?
Kassidy Fox: We thought it was a fun opportunity to get extra credit.
Q: What were the struggles while making your video?
Mia Ward: We kept messing up.
Kassidy Fox: Trying to fit everyone’s schedule.
Trent Massey: To find the right places to film.
Q: What was your favorite part about making the video?
Mia Ward: When Kassidy dropped her whiteboard and watching people make silly mistakes.
Q: What was the meaning behind your theme?
Kassidy Fox: To show what our dream was, and what we wanted to be when we grow up.
Q: How did you feel while the audience was watching your film?
Mia Ward: Proud and overexcited.
Kassidy Fox: Thought people weren’t gonna like it.
Konner Fox: Proud and nervous.
Trent Massey: Excited and happy. I felt like they were confused.
Q: Why did you decide to include teachers in your film?
Trent Massey: Make it funnier and make it more liked.
Q: How did you feel winning as sixth graders?
Mia: Powerful and proud.
Konner Fox: I was surprised.
Q: What was the big prize that you won, and what are you going to spend it on?
Kassidy Fox: We won a 50-dollar Amazon gift card.
Mia Ward: Toys and candy.
Kassidy Fox: Save.
Konner Fox: Games for the family.
Trent Massey: 2×2 Rubik’s cube.
Q: Now that you won, do you feel like you will participate again next year and defend your title?
Konner Fox: Yes, we need to defend out title.
