Q: How does it feel to be the principal of McAuliffe Middle School?

A: It’s a great honor and privilege to be the principal at this school! I am happy to come to work every day!

Q: What’s your favorite part of doing your job?

A: I like seeing students experience success in academics, athletics, activities, and the arts. I love students finding a new way to connect to school!

Q: Why did you choose to apply at McAuliffe Middle School?

A: I chose to apply to McAuliffe because I was excited about working with middle school students and wanted to be a part of the Los Alamitos Unified School District.

Q: Do you read The Birdwatch?

A: I do!

Q: What do you like about it?

A: I like that students’ voices are represented. I love hearing student perspectives on current events and topics that are relevant to middle schoolers.

Q: Where would you go on your next vacation?

A: I would like to go to Maui with my wife. 

Q: Do you think that Journalism is a good elective? Why or why not?

A: I think Journalism is an excellent elective because it provides a lot of great opportunities for our students to express themselves and learn what it means to report on topics in a truthful and unbiased way.

Q: Do you like our new McAuliffe Birdwatch school logo? What do you like about it?

A: I love the logo. I was really excited when it finally arrived. I think it’s edgy and it represents a global perspective.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: In my free time, I like to go surfing and exercise. I also love spending time with my wife and three kids.
