Q: Why did you decide to apply as a science teacher?

A: Well, I didn’t choose. When I first started it was the only job available and I wanted to work at the school, so I really didn’t have a choice, and I wanted a job. I started off with math, science, and drama. But that’s what you do when you want a job, you can’t be choosy.

Q: Why did you choose to apply at McAuliffe Middle School?

A: Because I grew up in Rossmoor, Los Alamitos and I wanted to help and give back to [the] community I grew up in.

Q: What college did you go to?

A: I went to Long Beach State and graduated there. Then, I went to National University to get my teaching credential and my masters degree.

Q: What do you think about the students here?

A: I think that the students are very caring and thoughtful for the most part. I like how they try to help each other out.

Q: What do you like about science?

A: Something I like about science is that you are always questioning, you are always asking why and how.

Q: Where would you like to go on your next vacation?

A: Lake Tahoe

Q: Have you ever traveled?

A: I have. When I was younger, in seventh grade, I went to Scotland to play soccer. Then, I traveled up and down the coast a lot while working with bands.

Q: What do you like to do during lunch?

A: During lunch I like to read.

Q: What were your other jobs before you applied here?

A: I worked in Seal Beach at a clothing store for a long time. I coached basketball and football, and my funniest job [was] at a tanning salon.

Q: Do you like spending your time here?

A: I do.

Q: What’s your favorite book?

A: My favorite book is probably “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, “Catcher in the Rye” by J.D. Salinger, and “Behold a Pale Horse” by Milton William Cooper.
